Shefford Swim School - Heather, Owner & Director

Heather
Director of Shefford Swim School

Hi, my name is Heather, I am the owner of Shefford Swim School, I want to provide children with a life skill that could potentially save their lives.

In my spare time, you will find me searching for sea-glass on the Norfolk coast whilst walking my dog Poppy, a Romania rescue. I love travelling the world, learning new cultures and trying the food.

I am looking forward to building a bond within our swimming family.
Shefford Swim School - Roo, Swim Instructor & Pool Plant Operator

Roo
Office Manager, Pool Plant Operator & Swim Instructor

Hiya, I’m Roo. I am a Swim Instructor, Office Manager and the Pool Plant Operator for Shefford Swim School.

I fell in love with the world of swimming at a young age and so becoming a swim instructor was always my ambition. I qualified aged 17 and have been teaching ever since.

In the pool, my lessons will be full of fun and laughter, ensuring to pass on my love of the sport to all my swimmers. Along side this, I believe that involving the whole family and building a connection, allowing them to keep up to date with progress and encouragement for their children to reach full potential, hence why my office role is just as important to me.

Outside of lessons, you may find me curled up with my cat and dog, reading a good book, or attending football matches with my partner. I am possibly the biggest animal lover you will find! 🦒🐾

Zac
Office Team & Swim Instructor

Hello, my name is Zac. I have been swimming since a young age and have always had a passion for being in the pool. Being in the office allows me to build better connections with our customers, and be able to help out when I can.

When I'm not teaching, you will still more than likely spot me in a pool going for a chill swim. However,
I also love playing football and video gaming as well as training martial arts. ⚽️

Josie
Swim Instructor

Hello I’m Josie. I’ve always felt at home in the water. Growing up, I spent most of my time swimming, whether it was in the pool, the ocean, or lakes. From a young age, I fell in love with swimming, and it quickly became a huge part of my life. I learned early on how important water safety is, and that’s what inspired me to teach others. I’ve been teaching kids to swim for two years , I’m passionate about helping young swimmers build confidence in the water, learn important safety skills, and have fun while doing it. Swimming is such an important life skill, and I’m excited to teach children of all ages how to swim, whether they are just starting out or improving their skills. My goal is to create a positive, encouraging environment where kids feel comfortable and excited to learn.

Jess
Swim Instructor

Hi, my name is Jess. From a young age, I’ve always felt at home in and around the water — whether it was swimming, paddle boarding, or just enjoying time at the beach.
I love teaching and find it incredibly rewarding to help children build their confidence in the water. Seeing young swimmers develop new skills and gain independence is one of the best parts of my job. I believe that swimming is not just a sport, but a vital life skill, and I work hard to make each lesson engaging, fun, and tailored to every swimmer’s individual needs.

When I’m not in the pool, I’m usually outdoors — either off on a camping trip or involved in activities with the Air Cadets. I’m an active member and also enjoy mentoring younger cadets, helping them develop leadership skills and confidence through new and exciting experiences
